Be The Good

I was challenged by Cents of Style and to take part in their #bethegood campaign.  What an awesome opportunity to do something, big or small, for another person.

Yesterday, while driving to the grocery store, I noticed an elderly lady walking slowly down the street in the pouring rain.  She didn't have an umbrella and she was soaking wet.  I remembered that I had an old rain coat sitting in the back of my car along with an umbrella.  I pulled up next to the lady, asked her if she was okay, and offered her my rain coat and umbrella.  She hesitated at first but eventually took it, smiled, and thanked me.  Looking at her thankful smile made me realize that even a simple, yet spontaneous act of kindness can go a long way.  When you look, you'll find opportunities to perform acts of kindness.  When you take those opportunities to perform those kind acts, you'll feel great.

I now challenge you to take part in this movement and spread the goodness throughout!  Seek out an opportunity to do something good every day.  Hold open a door, donate to your favorite charity, or simply smile at a stranger.

Here are the details:

1.  Choose a good deed. Could be as simple as paying for the coffee after yours.

2.  Share your goods. Pick your favorite social channel (Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Twitter, etc.), but first, make sure to take a selfie (or something appropriate to your story), and share your story, big or small. Be sure to use these hashtags to help this campaign spread: #BeTheGood #JaneCares and #CentsofStyle. You’ll see your story featured at

3.  Tag 1-5 of your friends to do the same within a 24 hr period.

Fall Boots

Aside from wearing over-sized sweaters and drinking pumpkin spice lattes, wearing boots is one of my favorite things about fall.  I've rounded up some of my favorite fall boots, from the ankle to the knee and everywhere in between so you'll be properly booted up for the season.

I recently purchased these and these and I can't wait to style them.  They are so comfy and affordable!

There are also so many cute boots out for little girls!  I recently purchased these moto boots and combat boots for Aviana.  Aren't they adorable???

September 23rd marks the first day of Fall this year, and boy am I ready!

Target Fall Fashion Finds

I went to Target yesterday and came home with a couple of cute fall pieces.  I seriously went for two things and left with a cart full of items!  Happens ALL the time!  Anyways, I wanted to share what I purchased because I truly think these are all great items to add to your fall wardrobe.

These grey jogger pants have to be my favorite.  They are super comfy and I have been wearing them around the house all day.  I only saw the grey color in store but I just noticed they have multiple colors online.  I will definitely be ordering more of these.

I wouldn't normally buy a Mickey shirt, but I have been obsessed with camo lately and Aviana LOVES Mickey/Minnie, so I knew I had to get it.  When I got home yesterday I put it on and she went nuts.  She kept pointing at the tee and saying "Mee Mee, Mee Mee, Mee Mee!".  Haha!  I'll do anything to make her happy!

Bruschetta With Avocado

Hey ladies!  I've been on a cooking kick lately and would love to share some of my recipes.  I used to get so overwhelmed with cooking but I am really starting to enjoy it.

I made this bruschetta last night as an appetizer before dinner and it was delicious.  My husband loved it!  Aviana doesn't like tomatoes so she scraped them off and only ate the avocado.  Haha.  She loves avocado!  For dinner I made quinoa pasta with ground turkey and tomato sauce.  This was a super easy dinner to prepare, and the bruschetta only took about 10 minutes to make.

1 Baguette (petite loaf), Thinly Sliced (about 1/2 inch)
1 Large Avocado
1 Small Lime
Sea Salt and Ground Pepper, To Taste
Garlic, Minced
2 Large Roma Tomatoes, Diced
4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
Basil, Chopped


Preheat oven on the broiler setting.
Lightly grease baking tray with olive oil.
 Place baguette slices on baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
Place into oven and broil for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
In a small bowl, smash avocado, add lime juice, sea salt and pepper.
In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic and sea salt.
Spread avocado onto each slice and top with tomato mixture.
Garnish with basil and enjoy!

Talk about a quick, easy and yummy appetizer!

Kiawah Island

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently took a trip to Kiawah Island with the family.  The weather was gloomy throughout our stay but it didn't really bother us much.  We stayed at a beautiful resort called The Sanctuary and it was incredible.  I highly recommend this resort to those with kiddos.  The staff is friendly and accommodating to children, which is always a plus!
We fly quite often and Aviana usually behaves well.  Not on this flight though!  She was a little monster!  I tried my best to calm her down, attempting to bribe her with snacks and toys, but nothing seemed to work!  :/
