Dear Aviana...

Dear Aviana,

I can’t believe you will be here in 5 weeks!   I feel like it was just yesterday that I walked downstairs to tell Daddy that I was pregnant.  I will never forget how happy we were when we saw you for the first time.  You were only 4 weeks and you looked like a little bean.  Ever since then, Daddy and I have called you our “Little Bean”.

Hearing your heart beat for the first time just made Daddy and Mommy so happy.   I can honestly say that I have never seen Daddy with a bigger smile on his face than I did that day.  I will also never forget the first time that Daddy felt you move inside my belly.  I think it scared him a bit because the second you kicked him, his hand flew off my belly.  It was such an amazing and unforgettable moment.  I absolutely love feeling you flutter in my tummy.  It is a sensation like no other.

Mommy can only imagine the feeling of holding you for the first time.  Every time I think of this special moment I get teary-eyed.  I’m sure the feeling is even greater than I imagine. 

Please be prepared for Mommy and Daddy to smother you with hugs and kisses.  You will also become a famous baby soon because I will probably blast your pictures all over my Blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (which will all probably be outdated by the time you read this).  Everyone is just going to love you! 

I wish you could see your nursery and your closet!  Coco and Maw Maw have gone crazy buying you clothes, shoes, and making you the cutest bows.  I no longer have room in your closet so we will just have to borrow some of Daddy’s closet space.  I’m sure he won’t mind.  I told Daddy that he better watch out because you and I are going to do some major damage when we go shopping.  I think I have already made a big dent in our account but Daddy has not complained once. 

You have the most amazing Daddy in world.  You are going to be the daughter of a Daddy who will love you very much.  He already loves you very much.  I’m pretty sure he is a little nervous about having a baby girl because, to honest with you, I don’t think he is someone who understands girls at all.  But it’s okay.  All he needs to understand is how to take care of you, how to love you, and keep you safe.  This I know he will do because he does this for Mommy.  

Wanting to be a mother has been on my mind for as long as I can remember.  There is so much I can’t wait to show you and share with you.  The thought alone makes me giddy with excitement.  It is my job as your mother to prepare you for life.  I will not always be your favorite person, but please know that everything I do is done with LOVE.  I am your best friend and your biggest fan, but first and foremost, I am your Mommy.
